For more than 300 years, the Château de Barbebelle has remained
one of the oldest wine-producing estates in the Aix-en-Provence
region.
One of the great names of the Aix hillsides, located on clay-limestone
(argilo-calcareous) soil along the upper slopes of the Trévaresse
mountain range, 15 km from Aix-en-Provence.
The vineyard is spread out over the best
locations of the terroir and entirely AOC guaranteed (Appellation
d'origine contrôlée). Set in an estate of 380 uninterrupted
hectares, the vineyard enjoys a maximum amount sunshine, particularly
favourable to its growth.
Our old vaulted cellars, carved into the rock during the late 17th
century, ensure our wines the very best conditions for ageing and
storage.
In this beautiful estate, tradition lives on, all the while keeping
up with the 'winds' of progress.
